Come, Thou Fount… bring us peace!
Come, Thou long-expected Jesus, set us free!
Emmanuel! God of Israel…
Hope of all the earth, Lord of the universe,
We find our rest in Thee!
We are the ones who have fallen
We are the ones who have failed
We are the ones who are desperate to be rescued from ourselves
We are the ones who are broken
Battered and bruised from our lives
We are the ones who need mercy from a holy sacrifice
Unto all of us… the saints and the sinners To all of us… the losers and winners To all of us… Jesus has come for All of us… for all of us… for all of us… for all of us
We are the ones He has chosen
We are the ones He has called
We are the ones who proclaim the truth that Jesus Christ is Lord
We are the ones who sing praises
And lift our hands high to the King
We are the ones who have nothing yet we give Him everything
Unto all of us… the saints and the sinners To all of us… the losers and winners To all of us… Jesus has come for All of us… for all of us
We are the sheep that the Shepherd longs to claim
We are the children this Child has come to save
Unto all of us… the saints and the sinners To all of us… the losers and winners To all of us… Jesus has come for All of us…
Unto all of us… the saints and the sinners To all of us… the losers and winners To all of us… Jesus has come for All of us… for all of us… for all of us… for all of us
Son of God and Son of Man
Pure and holy, spotless Lamb
Great fulfillment of God’s plan
The Redeemer of the Earth
Lord of all the universe
There before the world began
Chorus Emmanuel… God is with us Emmanuel… lived among us Emmanuel… come to set Your people free Emmanuel… God is gracious Emmanuel… never changes Emmanuel… Son of God and Prince of Peace… Such a wondrous mystery
Verse 2
Mighty God that knows no end
Savior from the death of sin
Wonderful Counselor and friend
Bridge
And all our praise… to You we raise…
You are Lord… Messiah
Oh, righteous Son… Oh, Three in One
Our conquering King
So… I just updated my site with lead sheets, chord charts, and lyric sheets (at least one of these for each song) for over fifty of my songs… just click the Resources tab and check out what all is there! If you are looking for something that I have not included, just let me know what you’re wanting and I will try to make it happen quickly. Stay tuned as I will begin adding YouTube videos for many of these in the future. If you are using any of these in your church(es), I’d love to hear about it! Thanks, all!
So, here is a song that I wrote for Father’s Day (video and lyrics following). The backstory is that Micah and I were busy occupying ourselves in Target recently while Kimberly was doing baby registry stuff (we’ve only got about 7 MORE WEEKS… YIKES!) and after a good amount of time in the toy section, we made our way over to the men’s clothing. I love hats. Love. Them. So when Micah spotted a whole section of hats, he wanted to go “see” them. I let him try on several hats, but when he put on this fedora it was just perfect and he LOVED it. Of course, Kimberly decided that he just had to have it, but that I needed to get one as well. Micah thought this was the coolest thing ever!
On the way home, I was contemplating how my little boy still thinks I am pretty awesome… even after I have to discipline him… or when I don’t have time to play with him. He tends to think that it’s going to be better one day soon. It hit me on that drive home that God views me in much the same way… quite often I stumble and fall, but His view of me is tempered with knowing the end result and the love He shows me is there in spite of my shortcomings. He sees the man I want to be… and not the man that I currently am. And. That. Is. Amazing!
What He Sees in Me
Words and Music by Jonathan Snow Carpenter
I walk across his messy floor
Toys strewn from the night before
From playing solo ‘cause I’m still too busy
Every day I’m so amazed
That he still knows I’ll come and play
Once tomorrow comes around
Even though I’ve let him down
‘Cause he still wants to wear my shoes
Follow each and every move
And try to mimic how I daily live my life
And even though I have to scold
It seems his solitary goal
Is to make his daddy smile
That’s what keeps my heart alive
What he sees in me is a man complete And what he sees in me matters more than anything Because he takes the time to look through my eyes What he sees in me is the man I want to be
He walks across my messy soul
My fears and failures in control
Of everything I’ve never wanted in my life
He sees potential in my mess
Imagines me now at my best
Stripped of all my selfish pride
That’s when He and I collide
What He sees in me is a man complete And what He sees in me matters more than anything Because He takes the time to look through my eyes What He sees in me is the man I want to be
What He sees in me is a man complete And what He sees in me matters more than anything Because He takes the time to look through my eyes What He sees in me is the man I want to be What He sees in me is the man I can be
