In case anyone has not noticed lately, Christmas is now in full swing. For anyone who has ever been in ministry (and particularly in music ministry) this is the busiest and craziest time of the year… are we overdoing things? I understand it’s a BIG deal to celebrate Christ’s birth… but the first celebration of it was rather subdued and perhaps more genuine. I don’t know if feeling like you are at your wit’s end so that people will “feel like Christmas actually happened” (huge musical productions beyond the capabilities of your church membership) is really what the celebration should entail. Maybe it’s just me… in the meantime, for those of you who visit regularly and comment very irregularly, you will just have to wait until I can breathe again for a well-thought out posting.
